Description

Silamide thread color is available in either a 40 yard card for $1.50, or the best value 100 yard spools for $3.00.

Match the color or value of Silamide to the beads, not the fabric. Even done correctly, you will see some thread showing with many bead embroidery stitches.  If the color or value of the thread is coordinated with the beads, the thread will not be as noticeable.  If you are just starting to bead, chose one thread for each value,  I have put together a Beading Survival Kit to help you get started with the three values of thread colors and the right tools for beading success.

19 colors in stock, Silamide beading thread. This is a super strong nylon, twisted fiber, pre-waxed thread. I use Silamide thread and size 12 sharps needles exclusively for almost all fabric beading projects.  I switch to FireLine thread only when beading with cut crystal or metal beads with hollow centers.

Silamide is an excellent product which I enjoy using. I can rely on it to ensure all the bead work on my crazy quilting is secure. I have a variety of colours depending on the project but find the grey values the most useful. I would highly recommend it.

Sorry for the glitch with the stars. I will look into it.

Silamide is wonderful for bead embroidery – for many reasons. It is easier to thread your small-eyed needle, then as you work on your project the thread is less likely to get tangled, and it will provides just the kind of artistic and professional feel to the finished piece you’ve devoting so much care and attention to… If you use the color of Silamide closely matching your bead, it virtually disappears into the body of the work and that is another nice quality of this strong, but flexible thread. It is nice to have a variety of colors available in small quantities as well as neutral lights and darks in larger spools. Great product!!

I am new to bead embroidery, but I have been sewing for many years. I took a beading class and Nymo thread was supplied. This thread frays very easily and is difficult, if not impossible, to thread a needle with.
It just did not seem very substantial to me. I decided to try Silamide thread and I love it! It is more substantial, stronger and does not fray like Nymo thread. It is what I expected beading thread to be like! Silamide is the perfect beading thread! I am so glad Nancy sells this thread, and the price is excellent!

I have used several other types of thread and have found silamide to be the easiest to work with. I ordered most colors to match bead work I am doing. I am new to hand beading, if you are going to invest your time, it makes sense to use a thread that gives you the results you want.
